10 week practical pruning courses run regularly, please ask to be put on the mailing list for more details.
This popular 10 week course has been designed for those students looking to increase their plant knowledge and garden design skills. The course is based around a project proposed by course members and one student will have a garden makeover! Each week we will look at plants and how to identify and name them correctly as well as how they can be used in a planting scheme. £500 (deposit required with booking).
Will run again in 2010!
DESIGN, PLANT AND MAINTAIN YOUR OWN GARDEN
This is a new course for beginners wishing to learn how to look after their own garden or tell their gardener what to do!
It will be running on Monday mornings from September for 10 weeks in Surbiton at the King Charles Centre. Please contact me for details or the college directly.
PRUNING WORKSHOPS ARE RUN REGULARLY.
Please ask to be put on the list so we can keep you informed.
WILLOW WEAVING
In March 2010 there will be another opportunity to take part in the willow weaving workshops. During the Spring and Summer many people made chickens and other birds as well as gorgeous rustic plant supports. We will be running these again and adding living willow as well. Contact Cathie for details.
SATURDAY WORKSHOPS
I am working on a series of Saturday workshops at Kingston and Secretts, please contact me if you are interested.

I can design your garden for you and prepare a portfolio as it takes shape with photos and planting plans. I have an army of horticultural students willing to help create the garden you have always wanted. We can often makeover a garden in a day and it doesn't have to cost a fortune!
You may prefer to have your garden designed with a plan for you to do yourself. One thing I must stress is that it is your garden and I design it to suit your requirements. Designs are from £600 upwards but every garden is unique and everyone's needs different. I am happy to fit in to your budget!

Years of experience and collecting reliable adult learners now enables me to offer a full garden army service. We can often makeover a whole garden in a day. All the gardeners are qualified or currently on a course and all are mature responsible adults. Once your garden in maintainable one of the gardeners can be allocated to you. If you just want a gardener without the makeover we can offer this service for a small charge. Any hard landscaping can be quoted for separately. You may prefer to book members of the team on an hourly basis. We charge £20 an hour per person and all members of the team are qualified hard working gardeners!

This Chiswick Garden took almost one day with 5 people and cost £700!
Please let me know if you are interested in work experience. It is an ideal opportunity to come and work on one of my gardens and earn while you learn. You can contribute on a voluntary basis too to gain experience and confidence before embarking on your own garden maintenance career. Once I have seen you working I can even give you a reference!
Please also ask if you have any teaching experience or would like to demonstrate a particular garden craft or skill. It could be a good marketing opportunity!

If you cannot attend college or are physically unable to work I can coach you via post or email. I can answer your questions, identify plants and even guide you through the RHS Certificate in Gardening. The RHS certificate is studied at your own pace and the next exams are in June 2010 or Feb/June 2011. You choose where you want to take it (each college has it's own fees). All the information needed is required in bite-size subject booklets. Please ask if you have any special requirements.

There are often organized group visits to Kew, Wisley and other gardens, including Highgrove which is by invitation only from HRH Prince Charles. We had an amazing trip to Highgrove on 18th September 2009 and am applying again to go in Spring to see the meadow! These are excellent days out and a good learning experience. Please ask if there is somewhere you would like to go with a group and I will arrange it for you!!
I can come with you to advise you on which plants to choose depending on individual requirements, drawing on years of experience.
Planting the wrong plant in the wrong place is not just a potentially expensive mistake; it could be hazardous to your health or property!
Please register your email address, through the contact page, to be kept updated on all of the above. Ask for a price list too!
