STUDENT COMMENTS
“So far I’ve signed up for five of Cathie’s courses (three sets of City and Guilds modules, one garden design course and the RHS level 2); I’ve also done several one-day courses. Every single one has been really enjoyable. Learning is in a friendly, encouraging way with the important hands-on practical side of gardening covered as well as the theory. It’s addictive!”
A gardening course with a difference, a very good way of improving your garden, computing skills and making new friends.
“Studying for the RHS level 2 in Horticulture with Cathie has had the perfect balance between learning theory and applying it in practical situations. Cathie’s depth of knowledge is inspirational and every week I leave the class knowing and understanding more about plants and all aspects of gardening. I only wish the course was longer !”

"Being on Cathie's City & Guilds and RHS courses have given me the knowledge and confidence to start my own successful garden maintenance business".

“I had not studied and taken an exam for over 30 Years, never thought it would be so easy and so much fun to get back to it. I have learnt how to study and learn the modern way. It has been fantastic to meet likeminded people and learn and share with them. To be so motivated and inspired, there is never enough time to do all the things, I now want to do! “

I can design your garden for you and prepare a portfolio as it takes shape with photos and planting plans. I have an army of horticultural students willing to help create the garden you have always wanted. We can often makeover a garden in a day and it doesn't have to cost a fortune!
You may prefer to have your garden designed with a plan for you to do yourself. One thing I must stress is that it is your garden and I design it to suit your requirements. Designs are from £600 upwards but every garden is unique and everyone's needs different. I am happy to fit in to your budget!

Years of experience and collecting reliable adult learners now enables me to offer a full garden army service. We can often makeover a whole garden in a day. All the gardeners are qualified or currently on a course and all are mature responsible adults. Once your garden in maintainable one of the gardeners can be allocated to you.
If you just want a gardener without the makeover we can offer this service for a small charge. Any hard landscaping can be quoted for separately. You may prefer to book members of the team on an hourly basis. We charge £22.50 an hour per person and all members of the team are qualified hard working gardeners!

This Chiswick Garden took almost one day with 5 people and cost £700!
Please let me know if you are interested in work experience. It is an ideal opportunity to come and work on one of my gardens and earn while you learn. You can contribute on a voluntary basis too to gain experience and confidence before embarking on your own garden maintenance career. Once I have seen you working I can even give you a reference!
Please also ask if you have any teaching experience or would like to demonstrate a particular garden craft or skill. It could be a good marketing opportunity!

There are often organized group visits to Kew, Wisley and other gardens, including Highgrove which is by invitation only from HRH Prince Charles. We had an amazing trip to Highgrove on 18th September 2009 and am applying again to go in Spring to see the meadow! These are excellent days out and a good learning experience. Please ask if there is somewhere you would like to go with a group and I will arrange it for you!!
I can come with you to advise you on which plants to choose depending on individual requirements, drawing on years of experience.
Planting the wrong plant in the wrong place is not just a potentially expensive mistake; it could be hazardous to your health or property!
Please register your email address, through the contact page, to be kept updated on all of the above. Ask for a price list too!
